"Le Tigre de papier" is French for "Paper tiger", a Chinese expression - "zhilaohu" (紙老虎) - referring to something that looks threatening but is in reality harmless.
Similarly, 'le Tigre de Papier' jewelry evokes the image of a proud tigress, ready to bare her fangs if she must, but equally content to purr with satisfaction at the first gentle touch, the image of an independent woman, hard as nails on the outside, yet with a soft heart, a woman who dares to lay claim to respect.
These are fashion accessories that blend precious and rough materials. Every piece is unique, a stand-alone hand-made creation, made of gold platted brass, laser cut acrylic, PVC and sometimes gold leaf.
The designer, Léa Lewin is a 28 year-old Franco-american woman, born and raised in Paris, versed in cinema and theatre. She began designing accessories during her training in the performing arts, and has since never stopped. A keen traveller, she draws her inspiration from her travels as well as her encounters.
In 2012 she decided to create her own brand.
